See Alaska's Wild Grizzlies
    Hi Animal Lovers,

When you’re watching brown bears up close, distraction slips away. You’re completely immersed in what’s wild, with only your Nat Hab Expedition Leader as interpreter between you and the world’s largest coastal grizzlies.

You can experience this awe, safely and on foot, on Nat Hab’s Alaska grizzly adventures, surrounded by the majesty of the Katmai wilderness.

Watch our 4-minute mini-documentary, which unveils grizzly encounters through the eyes of Nat Hab guide Drew Hamilton. He captures the primal essence of the bears and their landscape: “When you’re out there, you want to be nowhere else.”

During abundant summer months of spawning salmon and shorelines rich with shellfish, we invite you to spend time up close with Alaskan brown bears from our privately chartered ship, the Natural Habitat Ursus, which saw new upgrades during the past year, including additional bathrooms and more spacious rooms. With just eight guests on board, we cruise the shorelines of Katmai National Park and explore remote riverbanks, earning unmatched access to busy bears.

This expedition enters the quiet spaces where grizzlies live — roadless areas where bears grow up free from negative human interactions. This is why our exclusive no-barriers approach works. Together with the bears, we are part of a serene wildlife equation.

If epic close-up bear photos are what you seek, choose one of our special photo tours, which include photography workshops and expert coaching.

Experience pure, unadulterated nature — where your only job in this wild place is to tune in to the wind, the weather and the whims of Alaska’s bears. Grizzly adventures fill fast, and only eight guests get to join each departure. Join us by calling 800-543-8917.
